Monster High School House Dorm Room 3 & Bathroom

Oops almost forgot about my school house room tour posts...I got side tracked with the new episode of Skull Academy and the doll food I made.

Here are pictures of Deuce's and Jacksons dorm room. The room is small so there wasn't much room for anything, just the beds. I should have used a thinner piece of styrofoam but this is all I had. I could have used cardboard but after all that cutting, I just didn't feel like doing anymore cuts. I had this piece of styrofoam, I just had to add some filler at the top and it works.

Here is the finished room. Very simple, the headboards are leather, I wrapped a piece of leather around some cardboard, the bed itself is made with cardboard and sponges, I keep saying I'm going to do a video tutorial because so many of our viewers have asked...but then things get busy and I forget until I write a post about it. I will get to it one day...soon...it's on my 'to do' list...

The corkboard was made from a cork coaster I got from the dollar store, I painted it silver.
I'm all about black, white and silver. The lamp was made with beads, hard stock and some chain.

The night table is a square building block, and a clothes hanger clip I took a part. The curtains are from Lola's old halloween costume. The bedspreads are crocheted by my mom, Lola's grandma.

I made the chandeliers with wire and beads.

The bathroom, the heart of this room is the tub, it was a great find from the thrift store and best of all it was free! There is a leg missing. The toilet is a piece of styroam I shaped then paper mached it with the toilet seat and cover...on the right of the toilet is the toilet paper roll. The sink the sink is a shot glass, I got a piece of styrofoam, carved out a whole for the glass, then paper mached the vanity. The curtains are material from an old umbrella, ok maybe the umbrella wasn't old, but I liked the material.

The bottom half of the wall are invitation cards I found at the dollar store, I cut them and glued them to the wall. The art is also found at the thrift store. I would love to replace the picture with art send in by you our viewers. So send us a scan of your art work preferably paintings with a lot of colour...and we will display your art in our school. You can see your art hanging on our walls while watching our show.

School House Dorm Room 2

Hey everyone, we hope you're all doing well.

Here is another dorm room we made a few changes too...

When I started this house a year ago, my goal was to get it done quickly, Lola was anxious to start playing with it...so I wanted to make it livable for the dolls, it has gone through some changes this past year, and I think I can finally say it's done.

 BEFORE - FEBRUARY 2012

It was not easy getting this room decorated because of the spiral staircase, I don't regret the staircase because I love how it turned out. If I were to start making this now, knowing what I know now, I probably would have added the staircase outside the box...but make it look like it was in the box, did that make sense? The great thing about using cardboard is I can add little sections to it, do cut outs etc...

I will be start working on a new dollhouse for a couple of the characters that may have a spin-off show on our YouTube channel, and it will be a lot brighter, more wooden furniture (aka popsicle sticks) etc... I can't wait to start working on that one. It will most like be my last Monster High Doll project.

I try to make each room look different, instead of adding wallpaper (aka gift wrap) to the full wall, I did half the wall and cut up strips of black paper for the stripes.

The curtains were very simple, I cut up a piece of cardboard, as long as the window and about 1/2" wide, then wrapped black velvet material around it, and glued the curtains to the back of it.

AFTER - FEBRUARY 2013

I didn't like leaving the side walls blank, so to improve the room I painted strips of paper pink, like the back wall and glued the pieces to the walls.

The black velvet frames is a piece of cardboard covered with velvet then I glued my old earrings to them.
I love how they turned out. I can't wait for garage sale season so I can find old earrings to do more of these little pieces of artwork.  I also made the mirror on the side wall, I used a small mirror some silver long beads then painted some small sticks pink.

I bought this old pink furry hat at the thrift store, so I cut a couple of pieces to use as rugs. The silver frame was also from the thrift store, I painted the frame silver. We are encouraging our viewers to email us their works of art so we can replace the paintings in the frames. The round box was also found at the thrift store, I added some bling bling to it, its used for their clothing and as extra seating.

On our next post we will show you the first of two boys dorm room.

Dorm Room Makeover

I love these dorm rooms that I made for the school house, I love that I can change them and give them little makeovers too. We are expecting new students at Skull Academy and instead of making another dorm room, I made a couple of bunk beds for Spectra and Operetta's dorm room. I don't think they will like that they have to share with two other ghouls, but I do like how the room turned out. I will be doing another video soon on the school house, there has been a few changes to the rooms.

More Bling to Rooms

The Monster High school house I made is still a work in progress, I will keep adding or taking away stuff as I am finding new things. The doll dressing screen I made for one of the dorm rooms was lacking something, I always wanted to add this chain to it, but never got around to it, but I finally did, it looks so much better. This room is going to go through more changes because there will probably be new students coming after Christmas, I have a feeling my niece will be getting more dolls and they need a place to sleep. I don't want to make another dorm room, so I'm replacing the single beds with bunk beds.

Check out 'our little shop' if you want to buy a bunk bed for your dolls.

I love how the dressing screen turned out, I also added more bling to the lamps
and lighting fixture on ceiling.

This is Operetta and Spectra's room, I don't think they will like the idea of getting new bunk beds,
but what can you do?

Rochelle and Lagoona's room just need a little more bling, the cork board was looking kind of drab,
so I added the bling around it.

That's it for now, I am decorating the house and restaurant for Christmas,
I will have pictures and a post soon.

Send us pictures of your dollhouses and doll crafts, we would love to share them with our readers.
