More Bling to Rooms

The Monster High school house I made is still a work in progress, I will keep adding or taking away stuff as I am finding new things. The doll dressing screen I made for one of the dorm rooms was lacking something, I always wanted to add this chain to it, but never got around to it, but I finally did, it looks so much better. This room is going to go through more changes because there will probably be new students coming after Christmas, I have a feeling my niece will be getting more dolls and they need a place to sleep. I don't want to make another dorm room, so I'm replacing the single beds with bunk beds.

Check out 'our little shop' if you want to buy a bunk bed for your dolls.

I love how the dressing screen turned out, I also added more bling to the lamps
and lighting fixture on ceiling.

This is Operetta and Spectra's room, I don't think they will like the idea of getting new bunk beds,
but what can you do?

Rochelle and Lagoona's room just need a little more bling, the cork board was looking kind of drab,
so I added the bling around it.

That's it for now, I am decorating the house and restaurant for Christmas,
I will have pictures and a post soon.

Send us pictures of your dollhouses and doll crafts, we would love to share them with our readers.

New Bigger Light Box

I finished my new bigger and better lightbox and its fabulous...well bigger anyways. I decided to use foam boards instead of a cardboard box.

Materials Needed:
  • 5 Foam boards from Dollarama $1.25 ea
  • 1 white bristol board, or any colour you like for background $1
  • white duct tape $1
Tape the Foam boards together to make a box. I cut out a square on the top so I can fit my desklamp through. I was going to cut out squares on the sides for the other 2 lamps but the box is so big I am able to just put the lights on the inside of the box. Slide in your bristol board, I want to find bigger bristol board so it fits the box so I can take pictures of even bigger objects.

Here are a few pictures I took with my new light box.

It only took 10 minutes to put it together.

Thank you for visiting. I made alot of new changes, added more pages, see above tabs, more pictures. I will be updating them often so please subscribe or join my blog. Please send pictures of your home-made doll crafts and I would love to post them here.

I am planning on a couple projects this weekend, I think I need a new light box, the one I made is just too small...I will pass by grocery store tomorrow to see what boxes they have, if they don't have the size I want, I 'll have to go buy one from the packaging company I go to. Then off to dollar store for white bristol board for the light box, I use tissue paper, but I think I have enough of it for the box.

It's time for a new one, not just because of the size. The tissue on top is ripped and the white bristol board has a few marks on it...I think I'm going to make it a little different so I will post about it.

So please check out my little shop and tell me what you think, for example what would you like to see in the shop. Keep in mind dolls are not included.

Thank you...have a great night!

How to Make Dollhouse Christmas Trees & Wreath

Here is a quick tutorial on how to make small pine cone Christmas trees and a wreath.

Christmas Tree

Paint your pine cones green, I added the glitter when the paint was still wet, but you can also wait till its fully dry then add white glue and sprinkle your glitter, shake off the excess.

Now add your ornaments, small beads, ribbon, anything small and sparkly.

Christmas Wreath

This is also very simple, I cut off a bit from a big lifesize wreath, you can't even notice a piece is missing. I added some glue to the edges and then the glitter. Glue small beads, wrap a small piece of wire so it can hang over the door.

Check out our video tutorial, there's a small stop motion clip at the end, check it out, tell us what you think. Thank you for being apart of our blog. Please don't forget to vote for us above on the top right, there is 2 icons, every vote counts :) Thank you!

Fashion Show...

Here is a few new fashions that the characters of Skull Academy are wearing.

We are making up some outfits for our next giveaway. More information coming soon, so don't forget to subscribe or join my blog.

Barbie, we're calling her Lola, is the owner of Lola's Bistro. We tried to make her more vampy with a black magic marker awhile ago but it didn't go well, if anyone has any tips on how I can remove it, please let me know.

This time instead of using velcro to fasten the skirt from the back, I just glued it to her, not to the doll. We don't change the doll clothes often so why not, when we get bored, I'll just cut it off. Using the hot glue and velcro, worked for a little while but then it started falling apart. I really need to take some sewing classes and buy a sewing machine, I enjoy making the clothes.

I wrapped a ribbon around the legs to mimic shoes. I'm going to try making doll shoes using play doh, not sure how it's going to turn out, I will post the process here once I find time to make them.

I did the same thing with Cleo's outfit, just glued it on, I added a leather belt with a chain that I made.

I made Draculaura's outfit a little different, the top is glued together and can only be removed by cutting it off. I love how the skirt turned out and we can actually remove it when we want to... I made the skirt by cutting up a chiffon scarf that I had, into roughly 4 x .5" strips and tied it to an elastic band. I will post a tutorial soon on how to make it, it was really easy and no sew and no glue.

Nefera's outfit was made the same way, the skirt is glued on, I'm not happy how the top turned out, the leather is stiff, so I will be changing that soon.

How to Make a Doll Park, Parking Lot, and Patio...

I made this background for our 'Skull Academy' show, its perfect for all the scenes, of course I wish I had more time, I would make different backgrounds for the different scenes. We will have to use the same background for the park, school parking lot, and Lola's Bistro patio background. Check out the video and tell us what you think. Please don't forget to share, comment and rate our videos.

I added a short stop motion clip at the end.

How to Make a Doll Restaurant - Finished...almost

Hi, the restaurant is almost finished, I changed a few things around since the last post. After putting all the dolls in the restaurant seated at the tables, it was a bit crowded and hard to use the door. So I removed one of the tables and made a counter by the front door.

I found these shelves at Value Village and they were perfect. I sanded them and re-stained using the same stain I used on the floors, table and door. The shelves were in perfect condition but the colour was a little off, it was too red. After all this work on the restaurant, I wanted it to be perfect, or almost perfect is good enough for me.
